Join the ranks of drone enthusiasts with ASL's comprehensive drone education programs. From simple, 5-minute hands-on games, to fully immersive STEM programs and interactive curricula, ASL is leading the way for safer, smarter drone pilots of all ages.

ASL's Team Building programs feature a hands-on approach to drone building and piloting.  It has been successfully used in partnership with Hiller Aviation Museum and the East Bay YMCA.  Clients include SONY, eBay and countless corporate events.

Micro Drone Intro Class

Students learn the basic by building their own micro-drone from scratch, with hands-on help and guidance from Museum of Future Sports professional pilot instructors. Students then learn to fly with one-on-one training, starting with basic hover-and-land skills to more advanced techniques. The drones weigh about one ounce and are very safe to operate.

Each program features:
* Introduction to drone operations
* Micro-scale drone systems and flight preparation
* Progressive flight training in the specialized netted cages for safety
* Complete FPV nano drone flight system, including aircraft, radio, charger and batteries

Registration includes admission for the participant (minimum age 8, 10+ suggested). All equipment needed to operate the drone including battery and charging equipment is included.

Micro-scale FPV Racing Drone Class
Hiller Aviation Museum




Learn to fly a tiny, camera-equipped drone using First Person View (FPV) technology in a special workshop at the Hiller Aviation Museum!

    This 2.5 hour session covers all the basics of micro-scale drone racing. These small, palm sized drones (3.8 x 3.8 x 2.3 inches) weigh less than 3 ounces. Because of their small size, they are perfect for flying indoors and very safe for children.

Each 2.5 hour program includes:

  • Leadership & instruction from trained staff and volunteers

  • Hands-on construction of a micro quadcopter, complete with all accessories.

  • Intro to LOS (line-of-sight) & FPV flying.

  • Rules, regulations and best practices.

  • Available flight simulators to hone pilot skills.

  • Fly and keep the drone you build.

Registration includes admission for the participant (minimum age 10) and one guest.  Pilots ages 10-14 must be accompanied by an adult.   All equipment needed to operate the nano drone including, battery and charging equipment, is included.
